Advice About Plants

Have had my new planted tank set up for four days now, have noticed that the leaves on alot of the plants are starting to go brown, have put tropica plant under the gravel. Using Fluval GLO lighting, one of each 40watt PowerGlo & AquaGlo.

Is this normal, there is also some new growth on the plants, will try to add pics later.

Here are pics, could anyone also id these plants for me.

Hi there,
Welcome to planted tanks! Please let us know the volume of your tank so we can figure out if your lighting is adequate. The bulbs you are using have a very high kelvin rating, it may be useful to get a daylight bulb. If your in the uk try here.

Bacopa caroliana - try to plant 3 stems together, not all in one bunch.

A sword or a cryptocoryne

Not sure but it doesn't look healthy.

Vallis - again not healthy at all

Egeria densa - again not very healthy

Please let us know also your dosing regime of ferts is

looks like a defficiency, make sure you plant 3stems together like above otherwise light wont reach the lower leaves.

Thanks for your replies, sorry i am new to live plants.
Tank is 240 litres, not used any ferts just tropica plant that is under the gravel.

Do yo think i should replace the plants or see if they grow new leaves once the old ones drop off, could a high level of ammonia cause any problems.

dont replace plants, it might be that they have been grown emrged therefore adapting to new life underwater. You need to dose ferts even an off the shelf product will help, dont think so about the ammonia because they are put in straight away soon as the tank is filled up, i know that dying/ rotting leaves give off ammonia
