alrighty then. first, a question. i have 6 assorted Tetras, 2 Black Neons, 3 Neons and a Silver-Tipped, they are all quite listless and inactive. i was told that all Tetras school together, but i'm beginning to think this is wrong. are there just to little Tetras in general or specifically? if generally, i can add a pair or trio of Bentos Tetras, if specifically i'm afraid i'll have to take the Tetras back and exchange them. if this is the case, would 4 Platties be fine in a ten gallon with a Betta?

and, i'm fixing up my bachelor Bettas tank. he'll be living in his own five gallon Regent tank with three or four Cories. would this work?

lastly, i'll be getting 'the largest tank my floor can withstand' this christmas. my dad will buy the tank and filter, make the stand and hood and outfit it with lights. it's my job to buy heater, gravel, plants, decorations and fish. the tank will either be a 20 or 29 gallon tank. in this tank, would 8 Red-Eyed Tetras, 8 Veiled Leopard Danios, a Red-Tailed Black Shark and two Angels fit and get along?

thanks

sorry i dont know much about bettas but three cories have to be held in at least 10 US gallons IMO becuas there problly smal now but they'll grow and thtas deffenatly not enought room for all thos cories even if they are a smaller breed Maybe try another Solitarey Catfish or bottom feeder? But i duuno.. I'm not a a expert :alien:

I dont think you havve enough of any one species to school.. the tetras I have generally school but within their species.. THere is alot of time spent "wandering" as well.. How boring would it be to stay in formation all day! :p

Schooling fish only generally school when they feel threatened and they cannot school if there is too small a group of them - less than 6-8 members.

As for the red-tailed shark, I would be concerned about his compatibility with angelfish.
