Just found one of my frogs floating not moving ,i remembered reading this ..

Occasionally, they float at the top. This is when they are being ULTRA lazy, so they don't have to swim very far when they decide they want to get air. Don't be alarmed if your frogs do this for a couple of hours---it often looks like they are dead but this is not the case. (Just poke them lightly if you're really freaked out, and you'll see that they were just spacing out, not dead!)

I,ve prodded mine it still won't move ,should i take it out,i think its dead but -_-

If he's alive he probably won't look too fondly on you taking him out. Maybe grab a cup and try to put him in there and see what he does. -_-

It was dead Sorrell, not sure why it died ,hope my others are ok :( Wondering if I over fed them on bloodworm, first time I've had ADF.

Hi Cat

I'm sorry to hear about your ADF. :byebye:

I don't think you can overfeed them if the bloodworms were live. I feed mine live blackworms and the ones that don't get eaten right away go into the gravel where the frogs find them later.

If you fed them frozen bloodworms, however, there might have been uneaten leftovers that went bad. It might be a good idea to do a good water change and bottom vacuuming to get rid of the bacteria that might be building up in there, if this is the case.

I always give live,do you feed them every day?

Hi Cat :)

I don't usually feed them every day because there are usually blackworms living in the gravel.

If they seem to be getting used up and I don't have any live ones, I use the HBH Frog and Tadpole Bites. When I feed them this, I do put in a few every day because I don't think they will last too long in the water. :)
