Hi :) I'm in the process of researching everything I'm going to be getting for my first marine tank, I'm going to be getting probably a 50 gallon 3 foot tank (cant remember the dimensions). I want to be able to grow corals so I know I need good lighting, will T5 lighting be sufficient?
I dont know if I'm allowed to post this but these are the lights I was looking at getting, are these going to be ok?

Thanks :)

They look fine. Any fitting with multiple tubes (ie. >4) should improve the range of corals you can potentially keep. It might pay to research what coral you want to keep, along with any fish/inverts first, because you can shape your tank around them, rather then be limited to what you add after you set-up. :good:

Thanks. I've thought of a list of fish I want, can you tell me if this is too many fish for a 50 gallon and if they will all get along or not?

Pair of Percula Clownfish
Flame Angelfish x 1
Orchid Dottyback x 1
Citron Clown Goby x 1
Purple or Red Firefish x 1

I cant see any problem with that list! Corals Id recommend Softies, LPS, Mushrooms, Zoanthids, things like that! I wouldn't suggest trying SPS, Clams, or other harder to care for species until you've gotten the hang of things! :D

Thanks for your help :) One last question, is that about the maximum amount of fish I could have in a 50gallon tank, or would it be possible to add one or two more? I dont want to be overstocked but there are some other fish I'd like as well :) Also, if I decide to put a sump in, does that increase the amount of fish I could have? Thanks for your help :)
