Addition To My Cleaning Crue

Good day,

I think, I need some more guys in my cleaning crue, my tank is only 2 month old and I have
2 Fire Shrimps, 2 turbo snails, 5 hermits. My tank walls and LR looks completely cleaned but my sand is getting more and more dirt stains everyday. Do you have any advise on who I can add to actually clean sand and nothing else.

I liked astrea for a short while until i found out they would always die off because they cant right themselves up. I would suggest ceriths or some nassarius

I would get a trochus or 2 along with a couple of astrea (ive got some and never once had a problem with any toppling over! but I have heard some stories about them not being able to right themselves if the fall on their sides!). Also I would recommend some nassarius and a few ceriths! But all depends on the size o your tank. You dont want too much CUC as they can up starving to death once they get rid of all the algae and food etc!

cerith and nassarius are good sand stirers since they burrow down to sleep, my pistol keeps his 6x4" home's sandbed very clean because its his home and he loves renovating, and my yellow watchman has pushed a whole bunch of sand off one side of the tank onto the other side, which is kind of annoying but what the heck, its clear.

Sand stirers in my tank are 3 large nassarius, 1 pistol shrimp, 1 YWG, and i got quite a lot of bristleworms that probably havent been helping at all but they are there none the less.

lol true that! and my regal loves to clean them off and drop them in my favorite corals

Today I added to my tank 2 turbo snails and 10 nasariuses. I will probably add one feather duster later after I add
fish, I know they need plenty of food.
What do you think.

Yea add the feather duster a bit later on after having got fish in the tank and letting the tank mature a bit!

2 of them looks bigger then the others. Others are pretty small. The guy at bigals told me I need 1 per gal, I got 10 just to make sure. Are you saying its too much?
Also one of them was always going to the shrimps cave and even got knocked out by a shrimp a couple of times so hard, I could even hear a sound when his shell hit the glass. is that dangerous in any way , is that even possible that shrimp can kill them?

1 per gal strikes me as a bit much unless there's a lot of excess meaty food in the tank right now.

It is possible for snails to get injured from being smacked against things, although t's very rare for that to happen and the impact has to be quite hard. I would hope the snail in question figures out that heading back to the same place isn't a good idea.

Its not so much the snails needs to be worrying about, it should be more careful and keep away from the hermits especially if they are in need of a new shell!
