In a brand new setup, when is the best time to add plants?

I've always added plants within the first couple of days of setting a tank up with no problems. Some people wait until the tank has cycled. Post in the Planted Tanks section, you may get more help there.

Whenever you want really. The sooner the better IMO as they are great for absorbing unwanted levels of nitrate, make yor tank look more natural, help with algae control by absorbing certain minerals that algae require and create hiding places for your fish.
