Hey there people,

I recently got myself a C. Irrubesco Puffer :hyper:

I want to add a few Ottos to the tank (my first)
but the only problem is that he seems to be the
most aggressive thing i've ever seen

I know some peoples puffers car'nt
be kept with otto's cos there too aggressive,
Will i be able to?

All opinions Welcome :good:

You've answered your own question
''puffers car'nt

''he seems to be the
most aggressive thing i've ever seen ''

jsut from your observations about him I'd say NO-Anne

Hey Anne,

I know this but people say that Ottos
are one of the very few fish that can
be puffers -_-

I've seen post where people recomend
ottos for puffers but I just want to know
If this is every puffer?

Well obviously not, it's based on the theory that the puffer *may* not notice the otos, or find them a threat. Or prey. Whereas yours probably would, and make a nice pescado dish out of them.

Thats #### lol

Are there any other options i could
put in there?

He ignores my large shrimp,
And i was thinking of putting some Kuhli
Loaches in there, as it's very heavily planted
and got lots of caves in the form of pots and wood ect.

I think there far too fast to get picked on by him,
Wot do you think?

Again though... Risky, in other ways too (for instance, kuhlis are squidgy not armoured), but mainly, it's not as if you'll see them, especially with a potential predator in the tank too.

Yea I see what you mean,
But I'd love something else
in there too. I might try some
Kuhlis and see how it goes :good:

Thanks again for your concern :)

Not quite. Otos can regularly be put with Dwarf Puffer thats it usually.

There are some pretty grim myths around what can and can't be kept with puffers, but the reality is, you can't tell with most puffers, and if you're going to try something different, have a tank on standby ready to move the other fish out.

Carinotetraodon family puffers will tolerate, and ignore, ottos usually. Likewise can be said for bumblebee gobies.

Other more piscovorous puffers, cannot be kept with anything usually, it's not worth the risk.

My Salivator really dislikes anything going in "his" tank....even my fingers
