Hi. I have a 70 litre tank which is cycling with 6 red eye tetras and I have read that if you add some gravel from an established tank then this will help the cycling process as you are introducing bacteria.

My question is how do I do this, do I just add the gravel to the gravel alread in the tank or do I put it in some container? :dunno:

thanks - h

tstenback , that exactly what i do , i have even matched the colour of the stocking to the gravel[black].. just looked like a rock.... works well

thanks for that tip. I think I will do that.

the other thing is I have had the gravel with me at the office since this morning and it wont go in the tank until about 7:30 tonight (about 10 hours) will the bacteria still be okay or am I wasting my time?

thanks - h
