im going to add an extra external filter to my tank, increasing the turnover to 8 times an hour , how will this affect my water quality / readings...

cause for concern ? or just get on with it and stop being such a big gurl ?

lol im not sure what else to ask ?

thank you tho , for helping.....

Wont effect your readings in a bad way if thats what your worried about, more filtration is almost always better.

just as i *thought* ok , many thanks :)

ill be off to grab that new filter then...oh one more question, is there a recommended minimum water turnover per hour ?

Well, with 1 filter, i THINK it's meant to be 5x your tanks capacity per hour. So for a 60l tank you should get a 300lph filter (roughly)

well its below par right now at less than 3 times an hour , ive seen a pump on ebay , 30 quid, and that will bring me up to a rotation of 329 gallons an hour , i have a 40 gallon tank, sounds ideal huh, for 30 quid ! :)

my current eheim 2224 is doing 109 Imperial gallons an hour and my tank as i say is a 40 gal , so when i add a pump that does 220 gallons an hour i should be sorted @ 8 times an hour heheh
