Adding A Second Filter...

Would adding a second internal filter (brand new) to an already established tank and filter system cause issues?

Would you start a fresh cycle?

Not sure just curious.

No, your new filter would build up bacteria alongside the other one. A quicker way to build it up would be to split half the old media into the new one.

Just think of it as pushing new sponges into one giant cycled filter. It just happens to be two canisters.

As above iv added 2nd filters to all 3 of my tanks recently it's deffo fine and a really good clean thing to do IMO
