Ok well I've just been out and purchased my new tank and I have decided that I want to split it down the middle. I know what glass I need but how do I go about sealing it in place?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Iwould spot weld (aquarium sealant) a piece of plastic "U" channelling on both the front and back panes of the aquarium in the place you want to divide. Then get a piece of glass cut to width and depth and slot it into the channel. When you need to open up the tank again in the future then just remove the glass.

it depends on what fish you want to separate. If the fish are big then use a couple of airline suction cups on each side of the divider.
If the fish are tiny then you are better off gluing the divider in so nothing can get around or under it.

Well I'm going to be breeding in it. I meant how do I go about sealing it in? I mean I don't want to do a dodgey job and the thing falls apart.

empty the tank and dry it out. Then use a glass silicon to glue it in. Just run a bead of silicon along each edge of the divider and push the glass into place. Run your finger along the edge to wipe up the excess silicon. Leave it to dry for a couple of days and then set the tank back up.
