Added With My Oscar

So I asked a awhile back what I could put in with my Oscar..this is what I went with...

Two red finned tinfoil Barbs

And they are getting along good...

My Oscar never bothers them and they don't bother him.

Was this a good choice?

I'm thinking of adding a pacu ... or is this bad?

All those fish get pretty big....so just be careful adding things. The Pacu will get very big, upwards of 24" in aquaria, and the barbs are like bala's will get large I think around 12 to 14". so with your 125, being big, it still might not be big enough when you add alot of these large fish.

How big are the tin-foils now? I think they could prob be in a large group of maybe 4 to 5....not too familiar with them though. One thing I'm planning on one day with an oscar is a group of silver dollars. they are peaceful and because of their shape and speed, are not a very easy meal for the oscar. he will learn they are there and there is nothing he can do about it. Just some food for thought if you don't think the tin-folis are going to work out

no pacu is a really bad idea unless you plan to upgrade to about 500 gallons in the future?

Might be a good idea to add another tinfoil or 2.. they like to school.. the only downsize is they can grow quite large.

Pacu simply put shouldnt be kept in the home, they can and will break tanks, ive seen Pacu that weigh in over 100lbs in weight.
