I'm hoping to keep more than one kind of tang in my new tank, definitely a Kole Tang and hopefully a powder brown, or maybe a yellow / bristletooth.

What's the recommended way of adding the different species to ensure (as much as possible) harmony in the tank?

Does anyone think that combination is particularly volatile?

other stocking will include:

Leopard wrasse
Clownfish
Gobies
Blennie
Anthias

Don't think the Powder Brown and Kole tank is a good idea as both are similar color morphs. To ensure the addition of multiple tangs, the best bet is to add them simultaneously. Furthermore, you do know that PBT's are like the hardest Tang to keep right? If Tangs are ich magnets, PBTs are the worst of them... They REQUIRE multiple feedings per day to stay healthy which pretty much means you need an autofeeder. So make sure you consider that :)

Well i'm not one to say no to a challenge :)

This is still the planning stage, so all ideas are subject to change, only half filled the tank with RO water so far :p

Yup I can deffo say they are greedy things and my god they can poop for england too :( I would say stick to the hardier more peacefull tangs and also QUARANTINE!!! lol dont be fooled by what looks like a healthy ich free fish and stick it straight into your tank. Ive gone for a Mimic Tang & pacific blue but only on expert advise and quarantine.

Will do littleme, i'll be keeping the current nano alive for a couple of months and will be using it to quarantine new arrivals.

When my tank was in its fledgeling years I took on a Vamp and a Dory. The dory came first was the size of a 50p then the Vamp he was about 4" about 3 months later. They where fine with each other and I eval had a gold rush and an Atlantic Blue in there after (looking after them for a friend). As long as you keep them well fed you should not have any quarrling.

When adding a new Tang, add a sheet of Nori to draw the others to one side them place the new fish in the other with some food. Keep the tank well fed for a week or so then bring the food level down to a 'normal' quantity. This should help with the intorduction of a new Tang.

PS how is everyone?

Regards,

Matt
