Acurate??

well going through it will list anything that sounds off
but haven't kept fish just read a bit on them and generalizeing abit with most african cichlids

-Need a small canister such as fluval 103 or ehiem for plants-NO a small hang on tank filter will work as well and is much cheaper, a power internal most likely would also work, abig sponge might to but they don't look nice and only filter biologicaly
-Wouldn't personally bother with too much plant not part of the natural habitiat might get ewaten or dug up
-Coral sand is not needed as a substrate depending on your water ph and kh, all it does is help raise ph and kh and if your water is already satisfactory it won't be needed, but couldn't hurt, other things can be used to buffer
-Cichlid salt is not needed, nor is buffering chemicles again for buffering certain rocks will work or coral sand or gravel in the filter or substrate
-Slightly les than 8.2ph will work as long as the waters ph is consistent
-For feeding, several times a day will work but even tweo tiomes a day is fine but if you are feeding only 2-3 times a day, then the fish should be fasted for a whole day every so often couple times a months

So everything seems pretty much correct as most sites are but here you could be a bit more leniant then it says for most things, for example where it says at least two shells are best that is minimum from what i've read so don't go slack there
hope that helps

thanx, that really helps i took some things w/ a grain of salt, but for the most part i was looking mostly at the tank size and such. i really want fish i can keep but i can't afford a larger tank than a 10g. and cichlids were suggested b/c of our high pH in the area.
thank you again!
