Acrylic Or Glass?

Which is best for an aquarium? take in mind the resistance of the material, in scratching and bending, as well as other factors. Vote!

acrylic is clearer, not as heavy and stronger than glass, but it also scratches easier. I prefer acrylic, but to each his/her own.

Acrylic also insulates better. Keeps the temp of the tank more stable.

I prefer acrylic, it's much stronger, clearer, and lighter than glass. However, it is much easier to scratch. I have one of each. Go acrylic.

I only haveglass at the moment, but I'm planning my new 10ft tank to be acrylic because of all the reasons aboth.

glass on smaller tanks because it's cheaper though.

For small tanks, you probably have an option but as tanks get larger, acrylic is about all that's available because of the weight. Also, anything that is bowfront or curved will almost have to acrylic because of the bends. I think cleaning a glass tank is much easier because you don't have to worry about scratching so you have many more cleaning options like scrapers or razor blades.
