I have read a few articles stating that you can make some freshwater mollies into saltwater with slow acclimation. I was wondering how slow is slow acclimation. I really like this fish and would love to see it in my saltwater tank. I was thinking of putting her in a 3 gallon bucket with a powerhead or a filter of somkind, But im not sure how much salt to put in how quickly. I need some advice has anyone had experiance with this or any realting matters? Plz hlp

I would:

Put the fish in a bucket in freshwater then then get some airline tubing, start a syphon from your marine tank into the bucket and adjust it to about a drop a second by tieing a knot. Once the bucket is full remove half the water, repeating untill the fish is in full strength saltwater.

how full would i make a 3 gallon bucket with freshwater when adding the salt water for the first time.

Is this a true Black MOllie and not a hybrid like sailfins etc? Onnly True Mollies can really fully adjust to a marine envronment i think you will find
