I've got bugs in my tank water! They look like little swimming fleas, and it appears to me there may be several generations living in my gravel. I took some into a test tube to examine, and, alas I've got worms too. I haven't got batteries for my camera or i'd take some pictures for you.

I have not noticed any changes in behavour in my fish, all are eating well and acting normal. I added Mopani wood about 3 weeks ago, and bought some new plants last weekend (Doh! didn't quarantine. How DO you quarantine a plant?!!)

I seem to remember there being a compendium of 'hitchikers' somewhere on these forums, but I cannot seem to find it. Could someone kindly link me? (or just tell me how to kill the buggers!)

Many thanks

For a start I would simply use a gravel syphon and clean the gravel as much as you can, try to get the majority of the guys out that would be my first plan of action, secondly I would look HERE

good luck

I agree I would do a good gravel vac.
Do the worms have a forked tail.
Did you steralise the wood, and plants.
