Went to have a look at breaking down my quarantine tank this evening. It's due a fair bit of tidying up.

Spotted movement and lo and behold, a 1cm long corydoras. Has to be a sterbei given what's in the other tanks.

Given that the only thing that's moved from the display to that tank has been a hose for filling the tank (the display has a drain on the sump to let water out for changes, so everything leaving will have gone that way, it means the only thing that has moved in that direction in weeks has been the filling hose. I can only imagine that it must have snagged an egg somewhere along the way.

It does serve as a good reminder about how easy it is to transfer pathogens from tank to tank if I can shift a fish this way.

Pictures will follow if I can find a camera that doesn't go purple as soon as I turn it on (having some issues with my HTC One).

Aw! How lucky for him and for you that he wasn't washed away!
Wish I had accidental cory, but I do have fat tetras, they usually eat every single egg as soon as its placed on the sides.
Oh and yes, try and get a picture.. I have 4 cory babies I saved 3 at about 1cm and 1 that's half their size, would be good to compare them.

lucky he survived

Ahhh, I had a catfish called lucky, survived as power failure in a tank in winter. It had ice on the surface when I came home.
