Had three juvenile Acaras`s for three weeks and one of them became very aggressive towards the other two so it was returned to the Lfs yesterday hoping that the remaining two would settle in. This morning I noticed that the remaining two were going "Hammer and Tongs" at each other, is this normal, and will they settle down or continue to fight? Not sure of the sexes yet as they are fairly small (Approx 3")

Any advise on how to calm them down would be appreciated.

This is their tank.

You ever think about getting six or seven Giant Danios. Giant Danios are great dither fish.

Had thought about it a while ago, but chose to go for Rainbows, had six, but sadly now have only three. Thought about topping up with another three but find they are hard to get hold of.

I`m certainly no expert, but neither have extended dorsal fins, so I can only assume they are both females. Will try to post some pics for sexing later.

Had to return another to the Lfs this morning as there was nearly a fatality during the night. I`ve opted to keep the one that had been batterd because I think it will have a better chance of survival. It seems much happier now its on its own. :good: Maybe I will try to pair up again when I`ve got a bigger tank.

This is the one that stayed. To me it looks female, maybe someone else can confirm.
Sorry the quality is not great.

Cant tell from the pic. Females will often have white/yellow on the edge of their dorsal fins, while males have orange/red.
