Acanthophyllia - Help?

I bought an Acanthophllia yesterday - put it in, all good, last night got in at like 4am and it was fine, puffed up, looked really healthy - woke up this morning, about 11 (after too many beers!!) to find it looking really bad, it's skeleton's showing And it doesn't look good!!

Might just be the coral type, anyone got an experience? Here's what it looks like, unfortunately didn't get one when it look happy!

Have these been reclassified? Cos that looks like a scoly to me lol
Just looks to be deflated after taking a dump, keep a close eye on it bug my experience with fleshy lps makes me think poo time

Looks like a scoly to me too...

I have a very large scoly that does that daily... perfectly normal. Mine is generally open like normal during the day, and then after turning out the lights he will bring out his feeders and in the morning right after the lights turn on, he looks exactly like that.

Well bit of a story behind this. I bought it off a guy who sells corals. He had the best corals I've seen for ages. He sent me photo's and I asked for one labelled acanthophyllia. There was a picture of a scoly also. So, I said to him I wanted the acanthophylia and asked how much etc etc. Then I received it in the post an looked like the photo labelled 'scoly meat' so I emailed and said I thought he'd sent the wrong one but he said no he def sent the acanthophyllia!

Now I'm no expert but I did some research and the acanthophllia is a new name. Aparently they're very closely related to Scolymia and Cynarina an at different point at time they have been known as scolymia's and Cynarina's. Apar now they have been given their own name! Which is acanthophllia. Cool ay!

But I trust your id, and it makes sense cos I'm sure it was labelled Scolymia in the photo. Guess I've been very sneaky again as I got it v.cheap!! ESP for a scoly!!

It looked so cool when it was puffed up, so will it only puff up at night??

Mine is "puffy" during the day, it's just for about an hour in the morning it looks deflated.

Hmm mines the same now as it was this morning.. Will keep an eye on it! Hope it's ok!! It was amazing colours yesterday when it came, bright red and green! Looks so crap now!!

Looking much better - moved him up for more light!
