I recently had 4 pregnant fish. ( at least 4 ) They are Mollies and fancy guppies. One of the fancy guppy momma's dies due to unknown causes. ( No deformaties or other observable problems. She stopped (slowed) swimming one day and I thought she was about to give birth. In an hour she was dead :-( )
The biggest one actually gave birth but I only have 1 left. I know of several that were eaten. :X ( Look in "How does your garden grow" to see my next question)
Now, I have 1 guppy and one mollie still bearing. The problem is the mollie seemed ready to split, she was so huge, and now she looks to be getting smaller but, slowly. There doesnt seem to be any new fry. Any Sugesstions?
On to the guppy. She is a very tiny fish and seeing that this is my first attempt with guppies I don't have any clues or anyone to ask to come look at them. She isn't getting any bigger but the anal spot (gravid?) is getting huge. (compared to her size) She is about 1 1/4 inches long and the spot is almost as big as a pencil eraser. Is this normal? -_-

Guppies are the easiest of all fish to bread, they are about 1-1.5" when they start to breed. As for the molly, it probobly aborted, not enough food i guess!

Sorry and good luck next time! ;)

Try feeding them a varied diet such as freeze dried bloodworm, water fleas, tubfex at twice week and maybe change your flake food to brands names such as Aquarian or Tetramin.
