Hi all, this is a rock pool trip we went on to the sunshine coast, just an hour and thirty from home in Brisbane.

This spot we go to, two or three times a year and is so nice it is hard to describe.

You have a very secluded and safe beach in a bay area with at times is very clear water and a left hand wave that rivals any break around and will hold up to 20 foot waves.

The spear fishing here is great and scuba diving is just a walk off the beach and a short snorkel out to some shallow reefs.

The rock pools, here my mum first found them in 1980 when the folks retired up there and she would look around for stuff for my brother’s marine tank.

We went up for the weekend as we used to nearly every weekend (once we saw what was there) and she said there are clowns in the rock pools??

We thought she was getting a little senile, but when we looked, there were millions of green bubble anemones with clowns in them in 0ne foot of water.

There were akindynas, tomatoes and even one latezonatus a year or so back.

From there we found beautiful tube worms, lots of different corals,(baby sharks-wobys,bamboo and nurse), eels, blennies, too much to list, in rock pools, 2 mins from the car???

We have it great here!

These are some pics of that particular trip.

The first pic is a view of the spot and the beach and the left hander (very small that day) and the others are just anything there.

Dont expect a reply from this PKC fellow. he/she is one of those people NOT shy when flaunting various forums with their catches and pics.
But..is gutless and selfish when it comes to sharing the locations with others! (as i have emailed this person on numerous occasions)

I mean this individual has posted a pic of their tank which is full of coral and fish - obviously not store bought.
Its fine when they rape/steal from the reef - but its not ok for other to know/visit these pleasant places.

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to disagree with you there Mr Crab.
I have contacted the aforementioned member on various occasions and he as been more than willing to welcome me on one of their society collecting trips, BBQ and a few beers thrown in.
Regards
C
