Ok, I had a pretty busy morning and didn't feed the bettas when I 1st woke up like I usually do, I had to run to the post office before they closed etc etc...so the bettas were 2 hours off their "schedule"

Anyhoo.....I have a 2.5 gallon that's divided, an awesome looking male on one side and a stunningly gorgeous female on the other. He's forever building bubble nests and she's popping his bubbles as fast as he blows them (shes a little rude but I love her) I just got home a few minutes ago and began making my rounds to feed them, when I came to their tank I fed her 1st as usual because if I feed him 1st she practically jumps out of the tank so then I went to his side and....he wasn't there  I looked and apparently he had wormed his way onto her side and she ripped off his side fins, the ones he swims with   :X , put a couple holes in his long beautiful finnage, his mouth looks a little red and he was just laying on her side very lethargic looking ,unable to swim. I put him back on his side, adjusted the glass divider gave him some colloidal silver & some food but other than that I dunno what else to do for him, I'll run out and buy some melafix in a little while. On the other hand she looks fantastic  , the point of the story....see how dramatic they are? They think they're missing one meal and all heck breaks loose  bad news bettas  ;)

How terrible! Too bad you can't just take them out and give them a good spanking! I guess you know who wins the fight. You just don't mess with her! Do you think he will learn his lesson? Will he be ok?

no kidding   , they're just hankering for some spankering, but I think he'll be fine, he can still swim (and flare at her ) but all in all it made me realize....what a twisted love life the betta leads

I guess all bettas are different as are fish. Some are peacefull and other born evil ;)

:p I wouldn't exactly call her evil, he came into her territory without an invite so she broke his "arms" ;) . I'd call her headstrong  , you go girl! J/K (kinda)

I was feeding this morning and as soon as I took their lid off she literally flipped into the air...over the divider and on to his side, , I dunno what I'm going to do with those two....but it's obvious that he's so in "love" he can't even see straight & she's just a flirt  (and an acrobat) :p

Wow, maybe it freaks them out being able to see eachother all the time. Maybe you could get a second tank and separate them and get them some company, like a few ghost shrimp.

THAT SOUND JUST LIKE MY CASE ONLY I KEEP MY BETTAS IN SEPRATE VASES. SISDE BY SIDE TO SEE EACH OTHER RECENTLY I DECIDED TO TRY AND BREED THEM I PUT THE GIRL IN HIS TANK. THEY BOTH SEEMED TO LIKE EACH OTHER FANNING OUT FINS AND GILLS AT EACH OTHER THEN SUDDENLY THE GIRL RACES TOWARD HIM AND SNAPS OFF PART OF HIS GEORGEOUS FANNING. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE GURL OUT AND MADE SUR THE BOY WAS OK. I ALWAYS THOUGHT THE MALE WAS THE AGRESSIVE ONE :S

BOY BETTA- AZUL(SPANISH FOR BLUE)
GIRL BETTA-FIESTY :D

naaaah I don't think it freaks them out, they both have plenty of plants if they want some alone time, which they never do, they even sleep right next to each other (glass between them of course) , all of my males have female neighbors (side by side tanks) these are the only two that share & they're just crazy :fun:

They are  , I remember when I first introduced them to each other, I've never seen a male & female react like that, it was love at 1st sight

still LMBO about "cwazy in love"

Same with my fish....except I introduced one female... they were in love...then the seccond female...(changed his mind) and hes done this with all the females I've added. Now he loves them all ;)

I wouldn't exactly call her evil

Yeah i know I was just joking.... :D but seirously... ;)

By the way, little tip: bettas can jump.

Or was that a little too late for you?
