I sent this to the wal mart national headquarters. Let me know what you think!!

Hello,

on March 6th I entered a Wal Mart in Harriman NY. I proceeded to the fish section and was thoroughly appaled by what I saw. Bettas were in cups filled with their own filth, two of them were dead and all of the males were in terriblr shape. Their fins were ripped and they were at the bottoms of their bowls gasping for air. Many of the other types of fish were crammed in small 5 - 10 gallon tanks, with very little room to swim. If that wasn't bad enough I overheard a sales associate giving a customer completely false information regarding the purchase, needs and living conditions of certain fish. On March 5th I entered a Wal Mart in Newburgh NY, While it wasn't as bad as the one in harriman I was still shocked and saddened to see row upon row of bettas stacked on shelves about 4 high and 5 deep. Many of those fish will die in those cups and never know anything else, that is no life for an animal! On March 7th I entered a Wal Mart in Middletown NY. While most of the fish looked healthy enough. I was disturbed to see one male betta in a tank of cherry barbs, the males fins were ripped and he was hiding as best he could under the filter. Bettas should not ever be kept with barbs, since barbs can be aggressive and can seriously damage a bettas delicate fins. I feel that if your stores are not capable of hiring knowlegable people to care for the fish then you do not have the right to sell live fish at all. Please get back to me if at all possible. Thank you

Well said! It's disgusting what they do to those poor fish, even if it's unintentional... I really hope they will do something about it.
