IM0, I wouldn't because it's too little. It has almost a gallon but if you put gravel and a plant there really isn't much room there. If they would come in a bigger size that would be great but it's not even a gallon. Keeping one would be pushing it and keeping two is a definite no. I'm not saying that you would keep two in here if they were divided...just commenting on what it says on the description.

IMO it'd be ok. It's almost (very very close) to 1 gallon. Almost identical to an aquaview(which has airtube and all in it. So I'd say they would be pretty close in size.

I'd keep a female in there, but not a male. As a matter of fact, I have a female in one right now, but she's really small compared to my other females, and it's only temporary till her quarinteen period is over then she's going in the 10 gal with the other girls. IMO a male needs at least 2.5 gals to himself.

i think that 's the same as the 1 gal aquaviews that i and many others here use. i say go for it!

*shrug* I have three males and two females in tanks just like that and they are perfectly happy. I change the water on a regular basis, like every week or more. They have plenty of room to swim around, although I need to get more decorations for them to explore... :)

I would absolutely keep one in there, male or female.
In fact, in a discussion on the board not long ago, I said that Lucky lived in one JUST like that for months, and that's in fact where he grew his tail back. Six also lived in one for the same amount of time and they both were perfectly happy with life.

They each just had a little silk plant in there with a thin layer of gravel and they did fabulously in them.

They have both since been upgraded to 2.5G tanks, just because I could and I had the room, money, time, etc. BUT - if it came down to it, I would not have any reservations about keeping one in one of those for the long haul.

My feeling is that if a fish is kept in sparkly clean water with decent temps, gets fed a variety of foods, and has some attention paid to it each day, it will flourish, even in a container this size. Besides - it's not like they're being "downgraded" to a tank of any size - they're coming from a cup. Whatever they go into is an upgrade for them, and their quality of life, in my opinion, very largely depends on us as fishkeepers rather than the size of their tanks.

Of course, all just my opinions. :p

I have two of my guys in 1 gal and they do fine. However, I'd spend the extra $1.50 and get the Walmart Aquaview with the lighted hood, it also has an undergravel filter with a pump that you could use for an airstone if you didn't want the filter. :)

those are really cute!! OMG, I wish I would've seen them before I bought my Aquaviews, I love the colors. I think they're fine, especially if you keep the gravel/plants/decorations small and you do atleast one water change a week

I prefer the aquaviews because they have lights...
