Fish Herder
Hi all.
Finally did it. After thinking about this in several ways I ended up with a 4x2x2 as the final upgrade unless I sell this house.
I have a 4 foot 60 gallon now and most of its stocking will go in this new tank. Here is what I have
1 x 4/5 inch red spot severum (heros efasciatus) - sex uncertain but was told most of these are sterile males
1 x 4 inch heros sp. rotkeil (female)
5 x biotodoma cupido (all males varying sizes of 3 inches or larger to about 2 ish or smaller)
6 x congo tetras (3 female and 3 male) Full grown - males 3/4 inches, females 2.5 inches
1 x bn 4/5 inches
2 x true SAEs
The filtering is a bunch of filters (eheim and aquaclear) but will be buying a Fluval X5. Sand substrate. Plenty of bog wood and some rock caves. Anubias for as long as they last and then fake plants.
What else can I add? I have a sort of weak stomach for aggression and my one attempt with thorichthys meeki pair was not tasteful. In a different tank they really damaged my corys. So please take that into consideration.
I was thinking this, not all but from this list and I will be buying singles of the larger cichlids. I can't think of others right now.
Chocolate cichlid- hypselecara temporalis
Jack Demsey (I know after the aggression statement but.... I like the look)
Threadfin Acara-Acarichthys heckelli
Topping up the congos to 8 total or maybe 10... not SA but they are sooooooooo beautiful and have been great fish neighbors to all.
What about another bottom type cichlid as my small biotodoma seem to be stunted and the large ones will top out at about 4/5 inches.
Will start a thread/journal when I get the stand together, which has been a challenge.
