ive been trying to get rid of ich in my nano reef tank and ive ultimately decided to just treat the fish in a seperate tank and leave the main tank fishless for a while to kill the ich. yesterday my mom picked me up a ten gal started kit to use for it and i had set up and transfered the fish to it and was about ready to give a dose of the ich meds when i noticed a crack. then my mom called me for a sec. i went back and the crack was slightly larger. went to my mom and told her it was cracking. i grabed some buckets and went back to the tank. i took off the hood and all of a sudden CRACK and water is pouring out of my tank. 
.....those poor fish are under enough stress as it is and i had to catch them again and put them back in the main tank. not to mention the carpet is soaked................. tomorrow im going to the store and get it exchanged and set it up so i can finally get rid of the ich in my salter tank.
just felt like sharing this. lesson for all newbs...........fill up the tank in the bathtub or outside or something and leave it for a day min so this doest happen to you.
