I recently ordered some new tanks for my Betta guys..but Now I'm thinking I want something bigger (I'll just use the new ones for holding tanks during water changes lol).

I have some instructions for making tanks but it suggests using 1/4" thick plexi. I have some sheets of 1/8" thik already and was wondering if anyone thought it might work instead.

I want the tanks to be 10"H x 6"w x 10"L..that would probably make them hold about 2g each.

Will the 1/8" be strong enough to support the water, or no? I even thought of making a bottom/rim support instead of only the sdes too.

This isn't in stone..but it woudl save me about $150 if it's at all possible to use the 1/8 lol.

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

Actually, teh 2 sheets I have are 3/16" thick, instead of 1/8". And After I measured the top of my hutch, they'll have to be 8"T x 4"W x 8"D.

Thought about taking some 1/4" and using a router to go around the inside so taht the side will fit down inside the grooves..then putting a sedge up top, so the side can't blow out.
