weve all had the question what do i do if a fish gets sick"
well now we know that we have to diagnose the desease and treat it, but the question is what medicine is the most effective, certainly we dont really want to spend alot of money on something that doesnt work or isnt reef safe, so if you know any of the answers to the greatest medication ofr each desease then please answer,

marine ich,
fin rot,
popeye,
white edge fin,
fluffy cotton ball growth,
cancerous growth,
injured fish,
lateral line desease,
white spot desease,
gill desease,
clamped fins,
dropsy,
red spots,
red/bleeding streaks,
fish flukes,
fish lice, cauliflower desease,
vibrio,
black ich,
clown fish desease,
marin velvet,

i might have missed a few, so if you know then please tell... it could help alot of people on spending excess money and helping them out with info,

I know there is an emergancy section in the forum, but perhaps the marine forums could use a pinned article on marine specific disease and treatements? I hope you get some good answers. If answered could you edit your post on each disease with what members have found on each disease and maybe put it in the title pertaining to disease? Just a thought so people know what they are bout to read. I am very intrested in some of the marine members input on some of these.

Well, I only know how to treat a few marine diseases but I'll post what I know

marine ich - Quarantine in a seperate tank and treat with copper. There's unfortunately no way around it, most "reef safe" ich treatment's aren't worth their salt compared to copper treatments. Great care needs to be tanken to keep copper out of the system if it is or ever might be used as a reef.

fin rot - Quarantine and treat with antibiotics

injured fish - Treat with melafix and if necessary take steps to stop agression

clown fish desease - See marine ich
