Should i add salt if i have sucking loaches in the tank?, some of my platys are looseing scales and i thought salt might help them a bit, i am also using anti-bacteria in the tank.

I would suggest trying to find why your platys are losing their scales....prevention is always better than cure. I never use salt in my tanks.

Your sucking loaches might be what's taking the scales off of your platies.

Find out why they are losing there scales, you can give them a salt bath instead of adding it to the tank.

I have been observing my fish and there is a male that is always randy and nipping the females and the other male, i think he is a bully and could be the culprit. But on the other hand they only stated to lose scales after i added the 2 sucking loaches, i have added aquarium salt now 1 to calm them down and 2 to heal any wounds.I do think i have sussed the problem and i think the tank is to small, i was led to believe that i had a 40 litre tank when i think its only 20-30 litre  .Anyway i brought a 180 litre tank on sunday and i hope it cycles fast because i need to get my fish in there as soon as possible.
One more thing, the ph in my tank has gone up from 7.5 to 7.7-7.8, i have tested the tap water and it is 7.7-7.8 (bloody water companys fault), i have added ph down to the water twice now (every other day) and it is going down slightly.Should i keep this up and is 7.5 the right ph for my platys and suckers?.

Sucking loaches are chinese algae eaters which can be aggressive enough to kill healthy fish.

As for ph, I wouldn't recommend putting chemicals in your tank for that. It's really not all that high-mine is well over 8 and haven't had any trouble so far other than losing one pleco.
