My oranda Shinju is white with a bright orange top. I have noticed that her crown is comming in now more than it has done n the past two years of me owning her. I have also noticed that the color of orange on her body has dulled from a bright orange pumpkin to an orange sherbet. Is this normal or is something wrong with her? the other fish in the tank look fine and have not lost their color.

I have added some anti-fungal treatment to the water, but I was wondering if this was anything to really be conserned with.

Right need more info on size of tank in gallons or litres, plus how many and which kind of fish are in the tank, water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, what do you feed the fish.
Going pale in colour can be due to stress any fluffy fungus on the fish, or does she look bleached out in colour.

I am going back about 20 years now when my son won a goldfish at a fair. Actually forbidden now. Lovely fish..he had a massive tank in sons bedroom....I dont care what anyone said he ws intelligent...he used to watch my son playing in the room..anyway we went away for a week and someone came in and fed him 2 or 3 times when we came back he had turned from a beautiful golden to white! He was so pleased to see us he carried on living in his white state until 16 when he died.

Yup its common for them to change colour regularly but best to know what wilder has asked just in case. Got a before and after pic by any chance?

She is living in a 10 gal with a feeder fish. I had a black moor in there for a day while his tank was being repaired, but he has been moved out. She is swimming and eating normally, the levels and pH are fine, and I have done some water changes. I had seen that some boldfish change color,l but I was just a little concerened and what not since I had just spent time cleaning out the tank (did nto use soaps of any kind, just water) to get rid of some algae.

I knwo her tnak size is too small, especially with her friend in there, but it is the best I can do at college and even if I got her a larger tank to share with the feeder, I have no one else to care for them but me. She has lived in this tank with the feeder for about 2 years and this is the only time I have seen her go pale or anything. The paleness is more centered around her head and 'bubble' whereas the bright orange on her back and near her tail is still bright.

sorry, I dont have pictures

Still sounds ok to me but I can see youa re still worried. All you can do is keep an eye out for any other symptoms, but she sounds happy in herself.
