A non-EVIL filter

Ya know when you have fry?..well i dont know about you but when my platies give birth the filter sucks them up sometimes. EVIL FILTER OF DOOM I SAY! Well its easy to fix. Take your girlfriends or someones pantiehose and cut a small piece off of the leg and wire tie the piece on the intake hose.

And there ya go .. a non-evil and non-murderious filter VAWALA!

Only problem with that is it will also stop the large crud so u'll need to clean it often so the filtering doesn't slow down

a better idea is to take a foam brick and slice a hole into it for which the filter pickup tube can reach down into.
if the hole is deep enough and made with a tight enough seal against the tube.

I use netting in fry tanks because pantiehose ends up blocking off the filter due to the messiness of fry. The net has larger holes but is still smaller than the fish so it doesn't impede the filter flow as much

or another way is to just get a strainer bar and fit it to the wrong end.
