White bits
Currently cycling my tank, I had a xp3 and UV ehiem pipe work. third week of cycle. I have live plants a small amount of brown alga and loads of snails I hope my clown loaches will deal with them once I put my fish in. I understand where the alga comes from so that is not a concern at this stage,
However I have notice very small white particle in the water, my XP3 is currently set-up using the filter material that came with the unit (all foam filters with one carbon pack).
I will put some filter floss in this weekend to remove the small white bits but I have notice if I squeeze the outlet pipe near the filter a lot of white flaky stuff comes out the outlet pipe and I mean a lot… it looks like the pipe work is accumulating something, any ideas what it is and is it coursing the very small white bits currently floating around in the tank?
Any idea would be appreciated, Also managed to get hold of some 80/80 ammonia – to kick start my cycling, raised the ammonia level to 3mg/l with less then cap full – boy that stuff smells……100g tank! Within 8 days the ammonia is zero will add some more this week end – my cycling chart is almost like what you see in the books
