It's really a goodger. I say this in opposition to the commonly accepted name badger (Taxidea taxus) because this 15- to 25-pound, subterranean member of the weasel family isn't as bad as most folks think.

Don't disparage weasels. Of small predators in the woods, they are the most likely to approach you because they are very curious, and they are extremely cute.

You know by now that I do not keep chickens.
