i need a algae eating pleco that would not get to big right away, and would fit with the stock list in my signature, any suggestions? i was researching a clown pleco however i found they do not eat algae, so if anyone has an idea for me, the time frame is about 2-3 years in which time i will be getting a much bigger tank if that helps anyone and if there is no pleco that fits the bill, how do you get rid of algea or are there any other fish that might fit the bill, below is a like to what my tank looks like

note the stocking has since changed to whats in my sig, not what is in the thread.

thanks for ur help guys

i think if algae is your problem then you might want to find out why you have so much algae and not just buying something to get rid of it!

its not that there is a tone, its just iv always wanted a pleco and i figured i should wait till the tank developed a sufficient amount before i considered buying one

which ever plec you buy - you will need to feed it - it will not survive on algae alone...

I'd suggest a Common Bristlenose ;)

yea i know it wont survive on just algea, i already have wafers that i feed to my catfish and also i know plecos like cucumber.

I believe zuchinni is better than cucomber for them, and mine does not move at all for cucomber. I agree w/ the common bristle nose - i know some people who have them and love them. i also believe there is a list of plecs under 6 inches at the top of the forum that i constantly refer to.
