alright, here goes...

1. i had 2 boys whose tails started to get ragged looking several weeks ago...they were in a filtered, divided 5 gal where they could see each other constantly. i started by carding them, thinking that this would help repair the fins....NOPE...then i took them out of the filtered tank and put them in a 2.5 gal with an opaque divider, still looking raggedy...i have tried colloidal silver, melafix, salt and today i added a little anti-fungal, although they don'e look like there is any fungus...the top rays are more damaged than the bottom ones...both tails are quite long on the bottom... :dunno:

....any ideas?

2. i am sick of cleanig up sumatra's eggs she is in a divided 2.5 with her brother, thailand...i guess i will have to put up an opaque divider for them too...i have a 3 girls and 5 boys, so 1 girl has to be paired woth a boy...any other ideas? :dunno: i may have one below...

3. i saw 3 tanks advertised on craiglist - a 10, 20H, 20L, 2 of them with hoods....for $55...should i get em?? :dunno: i don't know which have hoods, but i was thinking of getting a few more girls and turning the 20L into a female community...i would also transfer my 4 danios in there...what do you think?

not that i am expecting anyone to say no to indulging my MTS....

1. If you ask me, I will tells you to trim his tail. :) Period. LOL
2. She keeps dropping her eggs?Wou, she must be a good mother. Sometimes the females will eat them up. Anyway, blur divided is good too to dividing them up so they cannot see each other. If you came home and want to see them flare, then change to clear one again.
3. If I were you, I buy it because they are real dirt cheap! Don't care you going to raise any fish or not or who knows you might put a lizard as a new pet for yourself. LOL Who know you want to breed too. LOL :D

I would try to make sure that first the boys with frayed fins aren't tearing or catching on anything where they live. Plastic plants and other ornaments can damage betta fins. I have had a bad case of fin rot and I had to use Maracyn2 to clear it up. Although, my worst case to date I thought was hopeless and Silver cured him up within a few weeks.

Change Sumatra where she is next to a different female, and put another girl who hopefully won't drop all her eggs when she sees him

Get the tanks. That's a steal for that price.

I used Maracyn (not Two) to treat Amos for fin/tail rot - the reason I used just Maracyn vs. Two is cuz he also had some white and grey patches forming on him. It worked like a charm.

I think either of them will treat fin rot, just read up on which one you want to use.

FYI - the water will get really cloudy while you're treating with this stuff.
