Thought I'd share these Pics of a few of my Hermits and my new Blood Shrimp. I love the Blood Shrimp. What a Character!

You're lucky your fire/blood shrimp poses for piccys, mine stays in the back of a big cave all day. Nice pics :good:

Out of curiosity, how many of those hermits have you got and what size tank are they in? To me Calcinus laevimanus has seemed much like C. seurati (zebra hermit), which is prone to crazy acts of territorial behavior even towards its own species, but I've never had the opportunity to try keeping C. laevimanus in groups to see if there's similarity there as well.

Thanks everyone.

I have 8 hermits in there. I'll take your word on the ID. They were sold to me as 'reef safe.' I've had them for about 10 months and no problems. They seem to keep themseleves to themselves.

I dropped some new shells in for them recently and was lucky enough to catch 2 of them "moving house!"

The tank is a 15G Nano, Im getting a 30G setup delievered tomorrow so will be looking for some advice on expansion! :good:

Wow. to have that many in a nano without a hermit war, laevimanus must be a lot more peaceful in same-species groups than seurati. Good to know.

Nice photos :good:

Sorry off to hi jack thread

Donya, keep meaning to take some pictures of my hermits for you to help idenify them, they sure as hell are not blue legs

Johnny - nice to see you, where you been?
