Today I got the pleasure of casually looking into my 10 gallon and finding a little fry. I had bought three unusual platies about a month ago, two of which are female. So far, I've found 6 little ones. They don't have much of an egg sack so I'm not sure how long they've survived in that tank or when the female gave birth.

I thought the female on the right was the one giving birth but after looking at the babies, I'm positive that it's from the female on the left.

Yeah after going through pictures from a month ago, I've discovered another fish has gone missing, a play I raised from when it was a fry. Over the past couple of months, I've found that fish tend to "disappear" from my planted 10 gallon. I'm guessing since I never discovered any bodies, they had to have been eaten. : (

Yeah, that happens sometimes : (

Those fry are actually from the tuxedo female. See the 'scraping' of black scales along the sides? That's how the marking starts out, so I'd judge by that they are about two weeks old.

They're great, good luck with them!
