Hey everyone,

I've got what I believe to be an Arcadia Luminaire lighting unit above my tank (my tank and lighting was second hand when I got it and I know it's not the standard lighting). I'd like it to be suspended over my tank rather than sitting on top of the support for the original lighting.

Here's the stock photo of my tank: http://www.arkpetson.../2t_newcopy.jpg

You can see the black support above.

I've done some googling and have found that they make a special kit to suspend the lighting unit, but it's a little expensive (£20 on eBay), especially considering I only really want it to hang from the support rather than the ceiling above the tank.

In the photo, it is screwed onto the end. Those screws are on the lighting unit as standard, so I just need to figure out what I need to insert there. There's a lid on my tank under the lights so it's not going to drop into the water, but it still needs to be able to support the weight. I had consider just buying some washers and some wire (I think wire rope is the stuff?), but how would I go about attaching the two together? I'm not sure I trust a simple knot.

There may also be another solution, but my knowledge of DIY isn't very wide.

Thanks in advance for the help guys.
