Hi. In the far, far future would it be possible to have some marine shrimp, crabs and even maybe even a small goby in my 35l biube. There is a conversion kit available from biorb so you must be able to put something in there... Any help much appreciated as always.

I dont know about any fish that would fit in there but I'm not that good on Goby's!!

You could def keep a shrimp though dependent on what type. Cleaner shrimp would be happy in there.

Thanks. As I said it will be in the future but it is nice to know you can have something live in there!

Just had a look at the conversion kit - doesn't look that great. To start with, you'll want proper LR instead of artificial LR. With real LR, you also don't need the bio-booster stuff it says it has. Salt you will probably want to buy in larger amounts if you mix new water yourself (vs. buying premixed from LFS) to make sure you get the sg you want, since a lot of salts default mixing amounts are actually a bit low. Don't know what's in the marine cartridge thing, but for filter media but you'll mainly be looking at activated carbon and perhaps phosphate removers. If that's what it has in it then I'm sure it's fine, but I don't see that info anywhere. About the only other things that look interesting are the "water level measure" (whatever that is - could be useful if it's something that can help track evaporation) and the light, which I guess could be tricky to upgrade if you want to keep the original top for the tank. The hydrometer may or may not be useful depending on what type it is. Price also seems a bit ugly...I'm seeing >$100 for it on the web. I hope that's the price for a new tank in addition to the conversion kit and not just the kit itself.

EDIT: just saw something else that says the artifical rock is porous. I'm used to seeing relatively useless and painted plastic rocks called "artificial LR", but if by "artifical" it just means it's man-made rock (like aragocrete or whatever it's called) then it would be fine I guess - but it would need to colonize from the ground up, which would still make cured LR more appealing.

Yeah. You pay what you paid for the tank to get one. Might buy them as you say. Thanks.
