Hi all,

I'm just wondering if any one can tell what sex my gourami's are. I was told they are dwarf gourami's but as well all know lfs aren't always accurate. I know males don't do well together but these have lasted nearly a year together so will be shocked what they are,I know the pictures aren't great but I was hoping someone would be able to maybe give me some idea. One is bigger than the other but they do look fairly similar.

Thanks in advance,

Thank you for that I did wonder if they were the same sex, how do you tell? So that means I can comfortably buy a male and that should keep them happy. I currently have a 90 litre tank but I am thinking of upgrading to a bigger tank so this should be ok?

Thanks again and sorry for all the questions!

ask away! :)

males are MUCH more colourful than the silvery females - very easy to distinguish between then.

90L might be ok, but I'm not 100% sure that's ok for the three of them. Hopeully someone with experience in keeping males and females will answer (i've only ever had males on their own)

Funnily enough it was pets at home that made me think the same, my gourami looked like the females there and then the males looked more colourful, but my lfs just had called them gourami :S. Unfortunately its the only one in town apart from pets at home and they are just as bad as each other in my opinion fishwise. I have sort of committed myself to buying a new fish tank, so my dad can use mine for his orchids . I am thinking about getting the juwel vision 180 (less money possibly less quality)or the aqualantis ambiance bow fronted 100 tank (more money better quality only 170 litres)but I can't seem to decide between the two. So if anyone has any suggestions between those or other I am open to them.

Thanks,
Liz
