My Quarantine Tank was missing a Dwarf Gourami this morning...
My inner pessimist told me that it was all going too well, so a death was inevitable. Sadly, it was the distinctly larger of the three. The other two were fine.
I couldn't find the body.
It's only a small cube, 48 litres.
No body behind the plants...nowhere to be seen.
So I carefully and painstakingly removed the plants.
The lid's a tight fit...no gap at all, but I still carefully checked the carpet, all around the base of the tank...no body, though I did glare at the kitty, who was, as usual, most interested in my activities.
Stuck my syphon pipe in, to remove a small amount of stuff that had gathered in my refuse corner.
Three dwarf Gourami looking at me.
I was reminded of Schrodinger's Cat.
I believe I have the beggar's fish...and it has Quantum Mechanics all sewn up.
After a nice sit down and a cup of tea, I reflected awhile...
I suspect I missed the live fish simply because I was looking for a body.
