when i stopped my fishes fin rot several months ago ive been trying ever since to cure it, i dont see any sucess, can you cure a fin rot condition that it had for a long time?

I've been having the same problem. I've tried every combination of treatment methods, but nothing seems to work better than the others. My boy's fins are sloooowly growing back... but who knows if they'll ever fully grow back. :dunno:

I've had finrot cases where nothing worked and the infection eventually spread to the body -_-

In my case, the fin rot is not advancing, nor are the fins regrowing quickly. I assumed that was the case with Slurpie's betta, but I could have misinterpreted.

I think mine grew back a bit, but the color hasn't. The growth is see-through. Been like this for quite some time.

I don't normally mix meds, but when a fish that was sent to me as an extra had finrot, I had a hard time getting rid of it. I finally used Neosulfex, and it worked better than others. The finrot would want to restart after a week of not medicating. The water was changed daily, and it still started back up. I finally treated with Neosulfex and put in a treatment of BettaMax also. That did the trick. It went away and never came back.

There are two types of finrot, bacterial & fungal.
Fungal finrot is the most common, however if you have had a longterm finrot problem, I'd view that as the less common type bacterial and use an anti-biotic to treat it.
