Just took ownership of a 75 gallon tank (48x18x20) . Any help on what kind of filtration, heating, lights etc would be a big help.
It will be stocked with 5 lemon tetras, 2 dwarf gourami, 2 kuhli loaches(soon to be 6 kuhlis) 7 mollies, 2 African dwarf frogs, and two albino cherry barbs and 1 bushynose/bristlenose pleco.
I also have Cabomba, java moss currently wrapped around a 10"x3"x3" piece of driftwood, Anacharis, dwarf lily bulbs and aponogeton bulbs to place in it.
The substrate will be 50lbs of sandblasting sand and 20lbs of tahitian black moon sand which has a few Malaysian trumpet snails currently taking up residence in it and about 15lbs of various river rocks.

Any advice/thoughts/criticism?

Thanks in advance.

I set up my 75 gallon in March with the following:

2 Fluval 304 Filters
2 Fluval Surface Skimmers
2 Hydor Inline Heaters
Coralife 4x65 Power Compact lights
Eco Complete Planted Substrate (4 bags on bottom)
Tahitian Moon Sand (2 bags on top)

I have been 100% pleased with the Fluval filters. A lot of people say that the Eheim filters are better. I haven't tried them so I can't say one way or another. The Inline heaters also work well but are a little more expensive than the regular type. I think the do distribute the heat better though. IMO it is better to run dual filters and heaters (one on each end) on tanks longer than 3' just to get better circulation.

As for substrate, the only reason I went with the sand on top of the Eco Complete is that I couldn't find enough of the EC and I wanted come corys who prefer sand (I don't have kuhlis but assume they do too) and the EC is pretty coarse and rough. Some of the sand has started filtering down through the gravel around the front of the tank where the fish are the most active.

I upgraded the lights simply because you can't get enough wpg for plants with flourescents.
