Well guys, I'm back, and better than ever, laptop is fixed, things are well, and now I have a 75 gallon aquarium I just recently got second hand. I'd love to turn this into a bigger project then just moving all my 37 gallon fish to it and upping their numbers as I had originally planned, cause, lets face it, I have too much time on my hands, and need something to do.
The scape I'm looking at is going to have anubias, java ferns, java moss, and wisteria, at my current planning. It'll also be decorated pretty heavily with driftwood, probably little if any rock. Sand substrate, of course. I got it, I love it, I'm not going back to gravel.
My water is hard and pH is moderate, about 7.4 with driftwood, so I'm looking into fish that are compatible with this or tolerate a wide range of water perimeters.
keep this all in mind with stock suggestions and criticisms.
Fish that I'll be moving to the new tank which I already own are:
1 raphael
1 featherfin
1 firemouth
1 jewel if it behaves
1 BN pleco
So, out of schooling fish, this is what I'm looking at for my 75 gallon. I'd like to know about some of these fish from people who have/have had them. Not people who look them up on google, I do plenty of that on my own. I'm looking into bigger schooling fish. around 4 inches, more give than take.
Schooling fish I tend to enjoy are a bit more slow moving than your average danio, but not as docile as a ghost catfish. You get the idea.
Silver Dollars
Odessa barbs
Boesmani, Turquoise, or Australian Rainbowfish
Congo Tetras
Anyways. Are any of these fish not compatible with a 75 gallon tank? How many would I be able to have of each? (not all of them in the same tank, but as in, only 1 school of one of the above fishes.)
Any other suggestions for schooling fish appreciated, as well as info and conflicts with the fish above.
on another note, I'm looking to get 1 or 2 more cichlids for the tank. I've got a decent list of what I'm looking at. Mostly a fish that'll get 6-12 inches, no bigger or smaller.
A Jack Dempsey
A Green Terror
An Oscar: I know there is a lot of drama and debate on these guys. I've always wanted one for one reason or another. Probably because of their personalities and grumpy faces. Before you go out and say NO. TANK TOO SMALL. GO BUY A GUPPY. keep in mind I'll be getting it from a very generic pet store, not a big aquarium store that sells to more serious aquarists. And chances are, the oscar I get would be getting, if not bought by me, would likely end up in a 30 gallon tank owned by a 10 year old so they can feed it chicken and feeder goldfish for giggles, to either die early from insufficient care, or grow huge and not be able to turn around in its tank. In a 75 gallon, it would at least be able to turn around and given some adequate room, proper diet, and proper water care. However, since my tank is not a 6 foot long 125 gallon aquarium (which imo is a better, but not totally necessary due to the supply/demand of this fish, which really should be taken into consideration given that they'd be better off somewhat less comfortable than they would be dying of hole in the head in a store or a small tank owned by a 10 year old or a bunch of drunk teenagers) and I won't be keeping it alone, so its not a definite YES, I'M GONNA GET AN OSCAR NOW. Though it is in huge consideration for me.
A Severum
Some festivums
A salvini: I've never seen them before, but pictures on google and whatnot show me a pretty fish, and if I ever do find one, I'd definitely consider adding it if its compatible. Don't know much about them, but I've heard they can be quite aggressive.
Any info/opinions/lynch mobs on the above fish are appreciated.
Finally, in regards to bottom feeders. You know I'll be having the featherfin syno and raphael, and I probably won't go far past that, but anyways, a small list of considerations
1 or 2 more raphael catfish (a definite yes if I have the room)
a "Dinosaur Bichir": I doubt this is its true common name, once again if I get it, it'll be from a generic petstore that lists it as such. I dont know how big it truly gets, as they say it only gets 8 inches long, but they also say oscars only get 8 inches long.
Banjo Catfish: I saw them at another pet store, I dont know any of them at all whatsoever, but I thought they were adorable. So thought I'd throw it in there.
That about covers it. Not much to say here. Any info on these guys as well is appreciated.

Another thing to add. My house is. Well. Crooked. I'm a little worried about how this will effect the tank. Please tell me if this can turn into a huge issue, and if I should put blocks under the stand legs or something to level the tank off if its necessary.
Aside from that, any advice and definite cross off no nos of the above considerations, other things I might want to consider, lynch mobs, TL;DR posts, flames, praise, questions, comments, secret codes, invisible ink, money, tips, etc etc etc appreciated
-Pictures shall be put up on here over time of my progress n whatnot-
@Tizer: I totally forgot to put "boobies" between each paragraph to keep your attention, as advised last time I made a long post that hurt your brain or something. My apologies.
