im suprised the lfs let you take all seven in one go - but nice one for saving them :good:

i would keep the poorly ones in a shallow water tank so it is easier for him to get breath. or try a bit of betta spa in with him or salt not both.

im sure he will soon be up and about with your good care -

good luck hope all settle in and have you got names for them yet.

:good: :good: :good:

lovely bettas

i dont think they cared. money in their register you see. plus he must have had about 40 there

the two worst ones are in 1 gallon tanks. i made sure they had a short way to go.

no names yet except for the little fella who i called squirt

all have had a dinner of bloodworms and are settling in well :good:

Good for you for saving bettas! I do that too...I go into my pet shop every Tuesday to see who comes in. This week they got over 100 male bettas, and, being known as "The Betta Girl", the sales rep that knows me wanted to pay me to take some of them! It worried me, though, they had them stacked so high and on top of an aquarium that will surely result in the fall of some containers... That was rough to pass up, but alas...mom only thinks I have 8 fish :D Perhaps when I return this summer and get a larger tank I will go save some more.

Although I did tell him to call if any looked sickly or too ill to sell...

7 rescues! In ONE day! Wow!
Well done for getting them out of there though, they are all really nice! let us know how they do!

YAY for you for saving them all! Even the ones that weren't in bad shape, you know if they had stayed there any longer they would've been *nodnod*
They all look fantastic and I really hope they all get healthier!

thats what i kept thinking cause i felt kinda guilty getting a couple that were ok-ish when there were others that looked worse but i couldnt buy everyone and i really liked those two

what do you think is the best thing to treat them with? i put a little salt in everyones tank last night and im going to do another water change. i also added some ketapang (I think its also called sea almond or something like that but its found in the water in their natural environment and has healing properties. owrks wonders ;)) should i just keep going with the water changes and the natural stuff or should i use some melafix or something?

Aw, that's so sweet of you to have helped all of those fishies. I'm thinking the last VT (blue with a short raggy tail?) could be a fin-biter by the shape of the tail damage. They always need rescue cause most people won't buy them - good work! :good:

I think water changes for now would be ok. Unless you see their tails getting worse then get something that will treat finrot.

only problem I see is what happens next week, now LFS thinks he can sell loads of bettas which cost him nothing to keep, so has filled the 7 jars again :(

Nice fish, but I've never been convinced 'rescues' work (not aimed at you in particular!)

i see your point but im the kinda person who, if i can save an animal i will and then thats one life saved. you cant save them all but you can sure try and make a bit of a difference :)
