I think most tropical fishes requires 75F or 24C, I read that paradise fishes could handle 68F or 20C, any other tropical could handle 68F on long term? Native N American fishes, Minnows and gold fishes are cold water fishes, so of course they could. Any cichlids? what about the gourami since paradise could? I am wondering if frontosa could as they are deep water fishes in their habitat?

Thanks for helping.

Most barbs, danios, tetras, livebearers and rainbowfish can live in water with a temperature between 16-30C. Some Corydoras can too.

I don't know of any cichlids, Bettas or gouramis that tolerate cool water and most require a temperature above 24C.

Paradise fish will be fine in cold water.

Corydoras aeneus, paleatus and panda
A lot.of fish from Mid America.

I read somewhere that livebearers, mainly swordtails and platies could handle 65F or 20C? Wondering if black skirt tetra could?

So far, my list of fishes that could handle 65F for this 29g tank:

Corydoras (aeneus, paleatus and panda)
Swordtails
Danio
Rainbow fishes (Murray River)
Barbs (some??)
Tetras (some??)

Fancy goldfishes can of course but 29g is too small.

Be very cautious of following the idea of fish that can 'handle' a certain water parameter. It doesn't mean that the fish will be comfortable, or thrive in such conditions. We humans can 'handle' very low and very high temperatures. It doesn't mean to say that we would choose to live in them. ;)
