Hi all

I have aprox 30 cherry shrimps in my 60L tanks. How offer do you all do water changes in shrimp tanks and how much each time.

Thanks AB

At the moment I'm changing 10% every day as I'm swapping from tap to RO water remineralised with Salty Shrimp and don't want to make sudden changes to the TDS or GH.
What parameters are you keeping yours at, Alex? (pH, temp, GH, TDS)

Hi

Temp 26-27
ph. Try and keep it as close to 7-7.2
gh is at around 65-70

When I had a 10gl shrimp tank, I did 2gl once a week. Shrimp have a low bioload.

My shrimp filthy my sand very fast so I vacuum the crap off the top every week. Usually about 50% of my 5g.

Is that 65-70 GH or TDS Alex? My GH is 9 and that's moderately hard. If it's GH you've got liquid rock - if TDS it's very low and the shrimp may have problems moulting at that level and it might be worth considering increasing by adding something like Salty Shrimp to change it very slowly to around 200-250.
The temp is a little high at 26-27, they don't live as long at higher temps. Some breeders recommend no higher than 21C - mine are kept between 22 and 24.

I use seat strips to test my water. I have been told there rubbish so I think I'll get some liquid drop test and see what it comes out at. Thanks for the advise on temp and so on.
