Could I keep 6 flowerhorns in a 55G tank for about 6 months? In 6 months I'm going to get a 150G tank. The flowerhorns are about 2 inches each and I think I have 3 females and 3 males. I'm wanting to have them pair off and then move the other flowerhorns to a different tank. Is it a good idea to have 6 little flowerhorns in the same 55G tank for 6 months, or will things get out of hand. I do have a 90G with 2 JD, a Blackbelt and a GT. I could possibly move the flowerhorns to the 90G and move my GT(3 1/2), Blackbelt(3 inch) , and 3 inch Jds into the 55G for the time being. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Yea that's probably the best thing to do..

In 6 months time, I could see a flowerhorn grow 4-5 inches... you don't want 6 4-5'' flowerhorns in a 55g tank.. I don't even think you'd get away with 2 4-5'' flowerhorns in a 55g

I was expecting to get a large tank at one time, and bought tons of fish to move into the big tank.. Well I didn't get the tank and stunted a bunch of fish and they all died.

Not a good thing to do!

I moved the 6 FHs into the 90G tank I have. I'm thinking that it'll be alright but if aggrestion becomes a probelm then I think I'm going to keep the best looker out of the 6. The problem i'm having now is that there just hiding everywhere and I never get to see them. I have a very nice, lots of hiding places 90G tank and just can't seem to get the FHs out of all the hiding places. VeryVERY shy. What should I do about that to help them get out and swim around a bit?

Eventually they will come out.. theyre probably stressed from being moved.

the unfortunate thing is they will most likely just try to kill each other when they come out.
