Hi
smile.png
Just wanting to check and see if my planned stocking for my tanks will be alright.

For my 55g I currently have 9 Albino Corys & 5 Rummynose Tetras
I would like to eventually have: 1 Golden Gourami, 15 Rummynose Tetras, 9 Albino Corys, and 8 Kuhli Loaches.
The tank is usually between 78 and 79 F, and has two Aqua-Tech 30-60 filters.
Want to know if that stocking will be okay, and if I would be able to up any of their numbers safely. Here is a pic of the tank, sorry it's so big D:

More pics but just the links to them so there aren't pics everywhere

For my 20g (long) I currently have 1 Male Betta, and was looking to add some corys. Not sure which ones can handle/like warmer temps but would really like to add the smaller varieties so there can be more of them so they will be happy

I'll be adding a cave to the tank as another hiding spot. The temp is usually between 80 and 82 F. It has one Aqueon Quietflow 20. Pic of the tank, again, apologies for the size of the pic:

Oh would also like to know what to feed, and how much, as I suspect I am probably overfeeding. For the 55g I currently have: New Life Spectrum Small Fish Formula .5mm Sinking Pellets, Omega One Super Color Flakes, Omega One Shrimp Pellets. For the 20g I currently have: TetraBetta Floating Mini Pellets. For both I have Omega One Freeze Dried Blood Worms. Are there any other foods I need to buy? Are these okay for them? Currently I feed each tank once a day. The 55g gets 2-3 pinches of the .5mm pellets, and 3-4 shrimp pellets, and the 20g gets 3 betta pellets.

Along with answering my questions, would love to hear anyones past/current experiences with these fish, and pics too if you feel like sharing them!

I think that's it..thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond!

For the 55, you have a lot of lower level competition. I would remove the loaches from the list and add more tetras. You could do maybe ten more.

Also, oddly enough, I have the same background, and the larger dragon was in my six gallon. Odd

I was thinking of doing that as well. Will certainly have a think on it..It makes me sad to think of not having them cause they are such cuties. What about that temp range? Is that okay for them?
I guess we both have good taste? :p

I like the stocking. Discord is a great name for a betta. Good looking tanks. The 20 gallon is asking me to tell you to put a driftwood branch in there. I agree with the tank. It needs driftwood. :D
The dragons are cool. Needs a Buddha in the middle ;) .

Discord? You been watching my little pony? :p

I've been found out! Yes that is who he's named after.

Any more thoughts/opinions? :)

Yes Tuna haha :3 I am pretty dead set on the stocking though so more worried about the feeding side of things, and would like to hear thoughts on if the golden gourami is going to be an issue with the other fish as I've heard they can be pretty mean. And here is a little bit of an update on the 20g. Since this pic I have also added some corkscrew val in the frontish part of the cave to make it look more hidden.

Golden gourami, I have recently learned from experience, are quite aggressive. I had one for a week (came with a tank) and it proceeded to bully everything almost to death. Then we decided to take him to one of our LFS and have him sold. He was nasty to everything. The LFS had to keep moving him from tank to tank just to keep their stock alive.

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for aggression. I'm home all the time so I can constantly watch the tank. I imagine they're just like any fish..different personalities. Was it older?

I am adding mine last so he doesn't feel like anyone is coming into his territory, and hopefully I can find one that is smaller so he can sort of grow up with the other fish? I'm sorry it didn't work out for you and that stinks they had to do that to keep their stock alive

I hope he found a nice home in a decent sized tank by himself! If I do have bad luck with golden gourami, do you have any suggestions for another centerpiece fish? I'd like for it to be the biggest fish in the tank if possible.

He was around five or six inches long. I don know how old he was. I wonder if females behave any differently.

If it doesn't work out, but you do want gourami, you could try pearl gourami (around four inches) or moonlight gourami (around six inches). Otherwise you could possibly try an angel? You'd probably be best to get only one, but I'm not sure if they eat all tetras or just neons.

He was close to full grown or full grown then I think. I imagine the females are nicer but I think the males are prettier and get larger and I'd prefer that..not to mention the bubblenests if he decides to make any! ^-^
Pearl gourami are also quite pretty so will probably try that if the golden doesn't work out. From googling the moonlight gourami it doesn't seem pretty but I bet once it's in your tank it looks great. Don't angels get mean aswell once they mature? Although I bet my dad would love that  and I'm not sure about that either.

Angelfish are fairly peaceful in the community setting. However, unless you have a later pair, multiple angelfish usually means disaster.

I will keep a single angelfish in mind then. :) Thank you!
